Pay for Airline Food? No Way!

What are the rules to bringing your own food / drink on board? It seems like liquids over 3oz are not allowed, so that rules out a coffee or soda. But what about food? I think you can still bring food on board a flight within reason. A candy bar, gum, peanuts -- easy. What about French fries? It sure beats savoring your tiny bag of pretzels when you can bring your own food for cheap!

I haven't flown in years, and probably would have a great deal to get used to that is different whey I do! Especially when I travel (or even go shopping for the day), I have some kind of snack in my bag. It is so convenient, and can save $$$$.

On a recent flight from San Diego to Chicago on United I was surprised to find out how many people were willing to part with their money to buy snacks. I mean it would have been much cheaper if they have bought the same snacks at the airport, but I think convenience is what people pay for in this particular example
